Who we are.
                    Fifteen years ago a mustard seed of personal commitment grew into an organization. The miserable living conditions of the most vulnerable segments of society in the Theni Block of Theni district motivated a social activist with other social workers to form the MAITRI Society. MAITRI (A Sanskrit word means “Friendship” ) is a registered Voluntary Organization working for the welfare of the rural people particularly women and children irrespective of caste, color, and creed since 1992. It is registered under Tamilnadu Societies Registration Act, 27 of 1975.

MAITRI committee consists of 8 members from different walks of life. It is also registered with Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India under Foreign Contribution’s Regulation Act and registered with Income Tax department under section 80G for Tax exemption.  MAITRI beliefs in gender equality and do practice by giving the leaderships to them. The board of members headed by a senior and well-known women social worker as President and the program is headed by a professional women social worker as Director.  MAITRI has infrastructure facilities including qualified personal to take up any sort of programs.
