SWADHAR Shelter Program
 
  
 MAITRI is running a shelter program for the women in distress. This is being funded by the Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment, Government of India. The main aim of this home is to meet the basic needs of the marginalized women/girls living in difficult circumstances who are without social and economic support. Women who are under these categories can seek shelter in the home.
  
 

    The shelter is providing free Accommodation, Food, Medical assistance, Legal assistance and Counseling to the inmates as well as to the family members and relatives of the inmates. In all cases, MAITRI helps them for their reunification with their family and for support less women to find employment opportunities in the private companies and so far we have helped 19 such women to get their employment in private concerns.

                     So fare MAITRI was able to assist 216 such distressed women and 51 children from inception. During this reporting period 41 women and 13 children were admitted in the home. All the inmates are provided with good care and counseling.
